PROJECT: Fort Belvoir Housing Program

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Fort Belvoir Residential Communities, LLC , a public private partnership between the U.S. Army and Clark Realty Capital planned and constructed military family housing communities within Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, VA.

The project consisted of razing approximately 1,630 units that include existing single family houses, as well as 2 to 3 story apartment buildings, and the construction of 1,630 units including a combination of townhouses and single family dwellings with all associated site utilities, surface parking areas, soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts and basketball courts. The project also included the construction of five 4,800 SF neighborhood centers, one 50,000 SF recreation building, and one 10,000 SF welcome center. Also, the renovation of 170 homes designated as historically significant.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Global personnel provided a full array of services for the project including:

1. Geotechnical Engineering Reports for design and construction; as well as Consultation services during site development;
2. Construction Materials Testing and Inspection services that included earthwork, concrete testing during placement, reinforcing steel inspections and BOCA inspections;
3. Performed testing and inspection in accordance with project specifications and Fairfax County Special Inspection program.
